International Men's Day
International Men's Day is celebrated on November 19th.
It is a day to worldwidely celebrate the positive value of men that brings to the world, their families, and their communities. It is to recognize and celebrate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of men as well.
International Men's Day's objectives are represented as:
To promote positive male role models; not just movie stars and sportsmen but every day, working-class men who are living decent, honest lives.
To celebrate men’s positive contributions to society, community, family, marriage, child care, and the environment.
To focus on men’s health and wellbeing; social, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
To highlight discrimination against men; in areas of social services, social attitudes and expectations, and law.
To improve gender relations and promote gender equality.
To create a safer, better world; where people can be safe and grow to reach their full potential.
This day has a depiction of the color, "blue" and usually people take action with the movement,
#wearblue. They wear something blue, take a photo, and simply upload it on social media with the hashtag. It takes less than 5 minutes and everybody should try it now!!
