Is it wrong to say Merry Christmas?

This topic has been very popular and a very uprising debatable issue with everyone.

What is Merry Christmas?

These days, people say "Merry Christmas" to represent the idea of positivity, good cheer, contentment, and another word for, "have a great holiday!" However, it can be also said to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Even if most people celebrate this day in a positive manner, there are some cases in which Merry Christmas may be debatable.

Why is "Merry Christmas" offensive to some people? (debatable)

There are people who don't celebrate this holiday or in a specific country (not everyone celebrates Merry Christmas). Due to the diversity of religious beliefs,  the usage of “Merry Christmas” might not align with or meet the principles of recognizing and respecting cultural ideas which leads to feelings of exclusion and marginalization with people. Especially for people who do not adhere to the Christian faith would feel uncomfortable in these circumstances.

Solutions?

A more neutral and inclusive expression like “Happy Holidays” can be used. This phrase will include all kinds of ranges of perspectives and cultural ideas.

Think about it in this way:

"Happy Holidays" includes all holidays, which also incorporates Christmas; however, "Merry Christmas" means leaving out all of the holidays except Christmas. Yet, it just depends on how you want to say and celebrate this day!
