Service Trainer: Ms.Luzarraga
A Grade 7 Math Teacher in Chadwick International is currently a service coordinator for grades 6 to 8. She has been a teacher in different kinds of international schools for 23 years. She has been interviewed with three questions about service.

Q1: "When did you start doing this service learning and training? What made you? Any inspirations?"
A1: When I was 14 years old, I was willing to support kids whose parents were in jail every Sunday for 3 hours. This was the start of my progression. I, as a teacher really liked doing new things and wanted to start having her own personal projects such as donating basic needs for children, school supplies, slippers, etc for other countries. As I moved on, I knew that I had a desire to going in this direction, education about service training and later has been part of learning.
Q2: "What experiences did you have when doing this service-learning and as a service coordinator? Positives and negatives? "
A2: The positives and negatives were both for me and everyone. One of the positives were I recognized my own why, the purpose of life. It should be shared not be kept. In addition, when I did these service actions, I felt happy and accomplished. Even when students became aware and took action, this made me feel fulfilled something from what they have learned from the experience. When you do service, there is no negatives instead challenge. The challenges could be generally as in logistic part, global trips, all the organizations in terms of documents and money. Awareness is different.
Q3: "What thoughts or perspectives should our school students have with service, taking action?"
A3: The thoughts or perspectives could be divided into three sections depending on the levels we have with service, taking action. Those who are already interested should be more careful. It's important to not feel exhausted because it may take away the passion. Instead, pace yourself and sustain the interest. People who are in the middle and are not sure should keep going. The more you help others, the more you get to know and find yourself. Last but not least, those who are not really interested yet should challenge themselves. Try it, before you say no!
Q4: "Do you have any comments or tips for other students who are willing to create service organizations?"
A4: There are three tips that would help other students who are willing to create service organizations.
The first is keeping an open mind. The second is incorporating it into your life. Don't make it take your life, instead have some time management, make sure you find the enjoyment of what you do. The third one always takes time to reflect: why you are doing this, what makes you feel, the sense of fulfillment, enjoyment because you need the reason of why you are doing it, basically a sense of satisfaction. This may be something really simple but, it really helps you build up better progress.
"Education is for improving the lives of others and leaving your community and world better than you found it."
