World Day of Social Justice
“There can be no peace without justice and respect for human rights.”
- Irene Khan -

Did you know? World Day of Social Justice is an international day where it promotes social justice that tackles issues such as poverty, gender inequality, and other problems regarding human rights. Social justice is the relation of balance between individuals and society measured by comparing the distribution of wealth
differences, from personal liberties to fair privilege opportunities. Social Justice is the view that everyone
deserves fair political and social opportunities.
Throughout history, social justice has been a global solution celebrated worldwide. Although inequalities such as racism, sexism, or ageism have not been completely solved, Social Justice Day has helped establish a society where everyone is treated equally without any discrimination. Although through various protests social justice has become a possibility for our society, there still exists multiple obstacles until 100 percent social justice. This includes societal norms such as stereotypes towards certain groups or the exclusion of specific ethnicities.
However, this should not be the case in our society. We should be able to respect differences, accept diversity, promote equity, and practice inclusion. Therefore, as students, we can take the first step by spotlighting nongovernmental organizations or intergovernmental organizations which focus on social justice.
