With the theme of “Belongingness & Tolerance in our Community, there were 3 people who were interviewed with several questions: Ms. Helms (school counselor), Elin Kim, and Eugenie Kwon.
The award-winning short film, “Hello” was about a simple greeting is all where it can change lives. Short but have a strong impact. In addition, there has been an announcement of the fund-raisings, annual fund, and Club Fund Registration for Trimester 2.
HIDDEN FIGURES ANNOUNCEMENT
Last but not least, it ended with service highlights: Hidden Figures. Hidden Figures announced the donation done to Good Neighbors and presented a video created by the leaders which were about the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Hidden Figures recently donated the fund that has been with the previous fundraisers, Halloween and Pepero Day. For Halloween, there were two different packages sold, small regular ones filled with candies and sweets, and big random packages. For the Pepero Day, there were big boxes and diverse types of regular-sized peperos sold. The leaders of the Hidden Figures, Alyssa Han, and Zoe Kim would like to share this gratitude we have towards CI Middle School Students by supporting us with the packages and peperos bought. Also, especially, thank you to the club members, Michelle Cui, Diane Lee, Lauren Park, Sunny Choi, and, Kate Ro for supporting Hidden Figures by packing the packages together! For the donation, it has been donated to an organization called, “Good Neighbors (Branch of Incheon)”. Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that is committed to making the world a place without hunger,’ where people live together in peace and harmony.
Hidden Figures decided to focus on supporting people in Afghanistan who are experiencing a national crisis, especially with health. With this involvement in service, Hidden Figures thought that this was an amazing opportunity to take action and spread awareness. Due to COVID-19, Alyssa Han and Zoe Kim were the only ones who were able to go to the organization and donate it. However, next time, we wish that everybody, including the club members, could go together and build up this action! Thank you all again, CIMS for encouraging each other with the contributions and Hidden Figures will move more forward with new developments made.
